On December 6th, 2024, Texas Hill Country Atelier held its first semi-annual Art Scramble fundraising event.

We had a very good turnout for the Art Scramble

What fun it was! We were delighted to see a great cross section of the local community of artists and art collectors. We didn't get a count, but I can tell you the parking lot (reserved for the event) was completely full. Thank you to everyone who showed up!

Over 30 of our Atelier affiliated artists created art for the Art Scramble, transforming four 8"x 8" panels (that we provided) into works of art. Within the first hour after ringing the bell, over 100 works of art were sold and the artists donated 100% of the proceeds! In addition, there was a Silent Auction of artwork by Atelier art instructors. All of the pieces in the Silent Auction sold with a significant portion of the proceeds donated to the Fundraiser. We also received donations to the Hard Hat Campaign from generous guests. In fact, we met our goal for the night and doubled it with a matching fund!

By all accounts, the first Art Scramble was a success!

The concurrent Hard Hat Campaign addresses the urgent need for funds to enable us to seize an opportunity. This is our chance to move into a new suite, built-out to our specification. We are well on the way to our goal of $96K - hitting the goal will secure our future, so we will not stop until we hit it! At this writing, we are only $16K from our goal.

I am already overwhelmed with the generosity of our donors and our volunteers. The importance of the arts and art education is not lost on any of you. The Atelier Movement fills a gaping void in arts education in colleges and universities. Building skills in this increasingly virtual world and culture of immediate satisfaction is deeply enriching to the individual, dedicated artist. We also teach quality craftsmanship using archival methods to create lasting works of Beauty for generations to come.

Of the three Platonic Pilars: Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, we know which one has been most neglected in recent history. Beauty is soul food, and is more important than ever.

We are almost there! Help us hit our goal by donating to our Hard Hat Campaign.
